Mallnitz, an idyllic alpine village at 1,200 m above the sea level,
embedded in an unspoiled mountain landscape,
is the gateway to the national park Hohe Tauern and is also
a sanatorium with a curing climate and an officially approved seal of air quality.
The community extends over an area of 110 km².
To the community Mallnitz belong the villages Mallnitz, Stappitz, Rabisch and Dösen.

Mallnitz lies directly at the north-south train junction
and accommodates a declared Intercity train station.
Whether you are coming from Munich, Udine, Zurich or Vienna - all trains lead to Mallnitz.

We are glad to inform you about the ideal train connection and if you know your arrival time, we organise a taxi for you which picks you up at the train station in Mallnitz for free.

• via Salzburg - Highway A10) direction to Villach/Italy - take exit Gasteinertal (with connection to Bischofshofen) - Badgastein - Böckstein (with ÖBB car-shuttle service trough the „Tauerntunnel" (tunnel)) - Mallnitz
• via Salzburg - Highway (A10) direction Villach/ Italy - Tauern high way tunnel (toll) - take exit Lendorf (direction Mallnitz) - Möllbrücke - turn right direction Mölltal/ Großglockner/ Mallnitz - Obervellach - Mallnitz
• via the Großglockner high alpine road (open from appr. May to October; fee) - Heiligenblut - Obervellach - Mallnitz
• via Kufstein - Wörgl - Kitzbühel - Felbertauerntunnel (tunnel with a toll) - Lienz - Obervellach - Mallnitz

Route from Vienna

• On the highway from Udine - Tarvisio - boarder to Austria - Villach (direction to Salzburg/ Germany) - Spittal-Millstättersee - take exit Lendorf/ Großglockner/ Mallnitz) - Möllbrücke - turn right direction Mölltal/ Großglockner/ Mallnitz - Obervellach - Mallnitz

Arrival without the Austrian highway fee (Vignette)

• from Munich - highway direction to Salzburg - exit Traunstein/Siegsdorf - via Inzell - Lofer - Saalfelden - Zell am See - Gasteinertal - Böckstein (with ÖBB car-shuttle service trough the „Tauerntunnel" (tunnel)) - Mallnitz

Reduced pre-selling tickets for the ÖBB car-shuttle service Mallnitz-Böckstein are available at at ADAC and ÖAMTC, at the Raiffeisenbank in Mallnitz or in Badgastein. On demand we also send the pre-selling ticket to you.

With the „National park Carinthian Card" free of charge via the Großglockner high alpine road - we are glad to send you a voucher for your arrival in advance.

We offer our own airport shuttle from the Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Laibach airports to Flattach and return. Reservations for the shuttle bus can be made at the Eggerhof.
